People worldwide do know this garden thanks to its splendor and the peace it offers. Nevertheless, its history shows that it has not always been that kind of heaven of peace. As a matter of fact, it was first deserved to Louis XIII in order to make his hunt training. Then, his mother, Marie de Medicis decided to take over the construction of the palace and the garden as well.

Later on, between 1850 and 1870, the French Haussmannian area could allow the opening of the Saint-Michel boulevard. As soon as this was set up, the attraction of people went off. In the same period, around 1860, the Vaugirard street was built. It is known as the longest street of Paris. Around 40 years later, the building that we know today as the Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche was built in its turn. Right from the beginning, it was a hotel.
