Today, the Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche suggests a gourmet stroll to our friend Arnaud Lahrer, one of France’s best pastry chefs.

In the first place, we are only a few minutes walk from his shop, barely enough to open the appetite! Many delights are offered to us: pastries, macaroons, chocolates and other sweets. In addition, we are in January, the full season of the epiphany cakes. We let ourselves be tempted by the Galette Bord de Mer, with caramel flakes. A wonder ! As for the pastries, there is enough to fill all the desires. Cakes, tarts, classic pastries or trendy dessert glasses. Their names announce beautiful promises: the Desire, the Toulouse Lautrec or even the Angel cream. A whole program!

On the other hand, we could have tested one of his original ice creams, the ice cubes. For example, you can find the ice cube strawberry pistachio, or passion raspberry. Also Norwegian, or ice creams and sorbets (coffee cookies, vanilla or chocolate).

Then, we let ourselves be tempted by a macaroon mango passion, a treat. The choice is varied, and the flavors classical as original (caramel salted butter, smoked chocolate, chestnut blackcurrant, among others).

Finally, we leave with a small box of 6 chocolates, in order to prolong the pleasures. The perfumes are intoxicating, we salivate in advance! Its specialty: beechwood smoked chocolates. Black chocolate or milk chocolate. Stuffed with ganache, almond or fruit. An almost indefinite range!

A little detour by the Jardin du Luxembourg to perfect these moments of pleasure, and we are already thinking about the next opportunity to return … Valentine’s Day?!?
